So this blogging thing in classrooms is news to me. When I was in elementary school we scarcely even used the computers, and if we did it was like "Oregon Trail" or some other educational software.

5th Grade Writing allowed students to publish thier research and assignments online to get feedback from both their teacher and the other students in thier class. The teacher also kept up with the blog posting a reflection of how students did and the struggles they had in completing thier writings.
1a. promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
3c. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.
Both of these standards would be good to use in my future blogs in an elementary classroom. At such a young age parents want to be informed of what thier children are learning, and children like to have more hands-on activities. A blog could reinforce the classroom environment.
